Il Romanziere Editore
Literary Novels Inspired by Art, Theatre, and Tradition
Il Romanziere Editore is a modern publishing house founded in 2020. It has an artistic soul and publishes novels with the aim of serving as a foundation for screenplay creation.
The publishing house has a fairy-tale origin: it was born in a small pub on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland, from an idea by author Massimo Cordella. Initially named The Old Novelist, it was created to give visibility to the author’s first three novels, which had previously been released in limited print by a small publisher.
When the author returned to live in Italy, he felt the need to grow the publishing house by continuing to publish novels with an artistic flair. This artistic identity is expressed through painted covers—real artworks created specifically by renowned painters—and through theatrical performances during book presentations, with the author himself staging the scenes.
In 2023, the publishing house was renamed Il Romanziere Editore. It was reborn with the idea of promoting not only the author’s own novels but also those of other writers, showcasing them at fairs and markets along the coast of Puglia using a vintage Fiat 500, which has since become the official logo and symbol of the publishing house.
Il Romanziere Editore is a publishing house where words become art, weaving together literary novels with hand-painted covers and theatrical presentations that turn each book into a unique experience. Founded on the artistic vision of Massimo Cordella, it brings to life stories that transform into paintings and performances.

AmazonI met the author along the main street of Santa Maria di Leuca — a truly delightful person. The novel is based on real events. An excellent read.
