Chantal is a fourteen-year-old girl forced to spend long periods in a wheelchair due to a genetic disease. Chantal is an only child, has an introverted character, suffers from loneliness and struggles to accept her handicap.
She loves literature and theater and dreams of being an actress. Chantal lives with her mother, Elise, a forty-year-old widow, and her grandfather Olivier, in a nineteenth-century villa overlooking Lake Montreaux.
The family’s wealth is not enough to make Chantal happy; her serenity is cut short by her handicap and the absence of her father Antoine, whom she has never known. Every day Chantal and her mother go to Cemetery Island, bringing flowers to the grave that has no photo.
Everything changes when one morning on her father’s grave, Chantal finds a photo that differs in the long run from how he has always been described to her.
Chantal, together with her new friend Kim, begin to investigate the true story of the family linked to the secret of a harpsichord that hides dark mysteries.
